The Eastern Ontario Natural History Society (EONS) serves as a collaborative hub for enthusiasts of the natural sciences, welcoming individuals of all ages and experience levels. Established in the Ottawa area over two decades ago, EONS is dedicated to promoting education across a diverse range of natural science topics, with a particular emphasis on deep time and the history of life.

Members can engage through a variety of enriching activities, including a Fall/Winter Speakers Series that hosts expert guest speakers on relevant subjects, facilitating in-depth discussions. Additionally, EONS organizes summer field trips that cater to different skill levels, offering opportunities to hone fossil identification skills and explore both fossil-rich and living environments related to biology and ecology.

The club also encourages informal meetings where members can present ongoing research, seek fossil identifications, and foster connections with one another. Through these initiatives, EONS successfully merges knowledge and community, enhancing the understanding of our dynamic natural world.
