Palisades is a California-designed fountain pen brand inspired by the Pacific Palisades coastline and the ocean connecting North America and Asia. Its collections bring together Californian design and Japanese craftsmanship: products are designed in California and made by skilled artisans in Japan. The brand’s signature Oblique collection features precision-machined ebonite barrels with flowing patterns, alongside hand-applied urushi lacquer, maki-e decoration and raden inlays. The pens’ distinctive shape is designed to feel comfortable in the hand, and models are offered with Japanese 18K gold nibs in five widths: fine, medium, broad, zoom and music.

Palisades also offers the Yuzen and Yuzen Dry Urushi collections, drawing on traditional Japanese techniques involving lacquer and cloth. Yuzen pens feature patterned designs, with machined resin bodies finished in urushi; the limited-edition Dry Urushi version uses a handcrafted Wajima lacquer finish. These collections also come with two-tone 18K nibs in five widths. Across its range, Palisades sells collectible fountain pens in varied colors and designs, including ocean-inspired, botanical and artistic motifs.
