Palisades Village

Palisades Village is a community-based organization serving older adults in Washington, D.C.’s Berkley, Foxhall, Kent, Palisades, Spring Valley, and Wesley Heights neighborhoods. Its mission is to help members age well while living independently, comfortably, and safely in their own homes. Bringing together members, volunteers, and supporters, the organization also creates opportunities for people of different generations to connect, learn, stay active, and contribute to a stronger community.

Palisades Village offers wellness activities such as fitness classes, yoga, and health clinics, alongside social gatherings, educational programs, cultural outings, book clubs, cooking activities, and support groups. Volunteers provide practical assistance, including rides to appointments, shops, and events; errands; minor home repairs and maintenance; help learning to use technology; and friendly visits for games and conversation. The organization aims to foster an inclusive environment where people feel safe, valued, and cared for. Membership, volunteer opportunities, events, and community resources are available through Palisades Village, which also accepts donations to support its work.
