The Palm Beach Poetry Festival was a poetry-focused arts organization that brought poets, writers, and audiences together through public events and creative learning. Its annual festival featured six days and evenings of readings, interviews, panel discussions, and other poetry programs, with special guests and an exceptional faculty of poets. Participants could also take part in intimate workshops led by experienced poets and teachers, with dedicated time to develop their own work.

Beyond the festival, the organization offered community outreach and events throughout the year, helping nurture poetry and creative expression among local audiences. Its work included supporting young writers through a high school poetry contest and preserving the history of its festivals in an archive of descriptions and images. The website also provides an audio and video archive of past events, along with testimonials and a festival guestbook.

The Palm Beach Poetry Festival has since moved to Western North Carolina and is now known as The Hellbender Gathering of Poets, with its first gathering announced for October 5–11, 2026, in Black Mountain
