First Church of Christ, Scientist, Palm Desert, is a Christian Science church serving the Coachella Valley community for more than 70 years. As a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, it welcomes people of all backgrounds to explore Christian Science and take part in worship, learning, and community events.
The church holds Sunday services and Sunday School from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., along with a Wednesday evening testimony meeting from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Free childcare is available during services. Its program also includes lectures, concerts, and monthly Sunday Breezeway Gatherings.
The church operates Reading Rooms in Palm Desert, next door to the church, and in Palm Springs. These peaceful spaces offer opportunities for prayer, study, research, and reading the weekly Bible Lesson, as well as access to books and publications. Visitors can also speak with experienced Christian Scientists about their perspectives and experiences.
