PALMED, the Romanian Association of Private Healthcare Providers, is a national organization representing and supporting private medical service providers. Founded in 2007, it works to promote patients’ access to quality, affordable care and to strengthen the role of the private healthcare sector. Its activities include lobbying and advocacy, representing members nationally and internationally, informing and advising stakeholders, promoting fair competition, and developing legislative initiatives that support both patients and member organizations.

PALMED’s membership includes private hospitals and clinics, imaging centers, medical laboratories, and dental practices. Through its online directory, the association helps people explore member providers, find doctors, and browse medical services across Romania. Listed specialties include cardiology, oncology, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, radiology and medical imaging, and dentistry, among others.

The organization also provides information about membership and sector developments, and invites eligible Romanian legal entities and authorized individuals that provide qualifying healthcare services to join. By connecting patients with its members and representing providers’ shared interests, PALMED serves as a link between Romania’s private healthcare community and the wider public.
