Panahgah's job is: 1) to guide the Humanitarian Visa applicant in filling out the forms, always preserving his/her autonomy and freedom. 2) once approved in the Embassy interview and granted the visa by the Brazilian Government, Panahgah begins to work in the search for Brazilian entities that can receive the family and settle them in the country. 3) Panahgah's beneficiaries are welcomed at the airport, taken to a place where their immediate needs are evaluated before they are sent to the place where they will be permanently housed. There he/she receives food, clothing, hygiene products, health care, participates in recreational activities, is introduced to Portuguese as the host language and to Brazilian culture. 4) Once the welcoming phase is over, the beneficiary is inserted in a permanent residence and in the local community. This is a delicate and long-lasting process (18 to 24 months), which requires attention, preparation, resilience, perseverance, respect and cordiality. In order to carry out this stage, PANAHGAH counts on the services of voluntary organizations that receive the beneficiary and give him/her support so that he/she can independently take his/her first steps in Brazil.
