About Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum
The Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum (PPHM) is the largest history museum in Texas, dedicated to collecting, preserving, and showcasing the rich heritage of the Panhandle-Plains region and the Southwest. Established in 1921, PPHM offers an extensive array of exhibits spanning 14,000 years of history, featuring everything from ancient fossils to artworks from renowned American and Southwestern artists. Visitors can explore a life-size Pioneer Town, learn about the evolution of the petroleum industry, and view one of the Southwest's finest art collections.
