Festival Panorama is a contemporary dance and performance festival rooted in Rio de Janeiro’s dance scene and open to artists from across Brazil. Founded in 1992, it explores how bodies and movement connect performance, technology, memory and place, bringing artistic work into theatres and public spaces across the city. Its 2026 edition is part of the first Semana de Arte do Rio, presented by Rio de Janeiro’s Municipal Department of Culture.
The festival offers a varied programme of dance performances, live art, artist residencies, workshops and public conversations. Events feature artists and companies from Rio and other Brazilian states, with works that examine the body, choreography, urban life, technology and memory, alongside intergenerational exchange. Its programme also includes dance workshops spanning African and Afro-Brazilian forms, passinho and funk carioca, as well as discussions about festivals and the arts. A Baile Charme at the Viaduto de Madureira adds a communal celebration to the programme.
