Panum Underwater Club (PUC) is a Copenhagen diving club run by students since 2000. It welcomes both students and non-students from a range of backgrounds, with a focus on community, safe buddy diving and enjoyable underwater experiences. The club primarily dives in Denmark and has also organised trips to Sweden, alongside social events such as a summer-house trip, a Christmas party, quizzes and shared meals.
PUC provides equipment for both scuba diving and freediving, including hand spears and spearguns for members interested in underwater hunting. Its facilities beneath the Panum Institute include a club room, drying room and compressor. Members can use the club’s speedboat to reach dive sites beyond those accessible from shore. Members who bring their own equipment can dive at no charge and store their gear at the club. PUC describes itself as Copenhagen’s cheapest diving club for students and regularly seeks grants to purchase new equipment, with members able to influence how funds are spent.
