Paper4trees

Paper4trees is a New Zealand programme focused on waste minimisation and native tree planting in schools and preschools. Run by the Environmental Education for Resource Sustainability Trust, it supports educational settings to take part in recycling and other waste-reduction activities. The programme reports that participating schools and preschools have recycled more than 103,127 tonnes of paper and cardboard, helping save 789,781 cubic metres of landfill space, while 333,972 native trees have been planted. More than 4,086 schools and preschools have signed up.

Paper4trees offers a range of ways for people and organisations to get involved, including joining the programme, becoming a sponsor, supporter or supplier, helping with fundraising, and making a donation. It also provides resources to support waste minimisation activities, alongside information about its impact, regional statistics and frequently asked questions. Schools, preschools, supporters and suppliers can contact the team or join the mailing list to receive updates. Based in Tauranga, Paper4trees brings environmental education, recycling and native tree planting together in a programme for communities across New Zealand.
