About Unión Industrial Paraguaya
The Programa de Oportunidades Circulares (POC) is a pioneering initiative aimed at promoting circular economy projects among small and medium-sized enterprises (MiPYMEs) in industrial and rural sectors. Launched by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (ONUDI) with support from the European Union, the program facilitates sustainable production practices that significantly reduce resource consumption and waste generation. By focusing on innovative solutions, POC helps businesses develop new production lines and designs for products and services that align with circular economy principles.
Recently, a successful closing event highlighted the achievements of 12 selected MiPYMEs, showcasing their initiatives that received funding of up to €30,000 to enhance their circular economy projects. Participants learned that embracing circularity not only leads to increased productivity but also contributes to environmental regeneration. The POC is a crucial step towards fostering a sustainable industrial landscape that prioritizes ecological balance and inclusive economic growth, ensuring a viable future for businesses and the planet alike.
