Parakiting is a paragliding school specializing in coastal soaring and mountain flying, with expertise dating back to 1993. Based on the Dutch coast, the school teaches students to read the wind and control their wings through groundhandling, which it presents as the foundation of safer flying. Its approach is designed to make soaring accessible, including for people with no previous experience.
Courses include coastal dune soaring and instruction in the mountains, with options such as a complete soaring course that combines paragliders and parakites. The school describes this course as including professional instruction, theory, equipment, and lessons until students can fly independently and safely. Parakiting also offers tandem flights and organizes trips to Morocco, alongside mountain courses in the French Alps.
The school’s founder and driving force, Max Morriën, has been involved in soaring since 1993 and developed a distinctive teaching method. Through its online shop, Parakiting sells parakites, paragliders, harnesses, reserve parachutes, accessories, other equipment, and second-hand products. Its stated focus is on making soaring safe, enjoyable, and welcoming.
