Parasitenbekämpfung

Labor Pfister – Parasite Consulting provides veterinary expertise in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of parasitic infections. Led by Prof. Dr. med. vet. Kurt Pfister, the organization supports veterinarians and animal owners with parasite problems affecting horses, ruminants, dogs, cats and other animals. Its services cover gastrointestinal parasites and infections transmitted by vectors such as ticks, mosquitoes and fleas, including conditions such as babesiosis, anaplasmosis, borreliosis, leishmaniasis and dirofilariasis.

The team assesses individual animals and groups or herds, reviews treatment history and possible resistance, and conducts laboratory analyses using established, internationally recognized methods. Results are clearly presented and professionally interpreted, with recommendations tailored to the findings. Based on confirmed infections and local risks, Labor Pfister develops targeted treatment and control plans, including selective deworming, monitoring, treatment checks and prevention measures. Its approach aims to provide effective, animal-welfare-conscious care while reducing unnecessary medication and environmental impact. The organization also undertakes veterinary and public-health studies, consulting, expert assessments, teaching and continuing education.
