Parc Haut-Jura

The Parc naturel régional du Haut-Jura is a regional nature park dedicated to protecting and promoting the Jura Mountains as a living, inhabited territory. Its landscapes include forests, natural meadows, lakes, wetlands, rivers, mountain pastures and distinctive ridges and valleys. The Park works to preserve biodiversity and natural environments while supporting sustainable development, local livelihoods and responsible tourism.

Its activities include climate action, river and wetland restoration, ecological conservation, sustainable land-use planning, and support for a local, community-minded economy. The Park also works with local authorities, associations, businesses, residents, teachers and sports-event organizers, offering guidance and assistance tailored to their needs. Through its GEMAPI responsibilities, it contributes to the management of aquatic environments and flood prevention in parts of the Ain, Orbe and Valserine river basins.

Visitors can explore the region through hiking and cycling routes, Jurassic Vélo Tours, the Maison du Parc, local products and Valeurs Parc services. The Park also promotes considerate outdoor recreation and shares stories about the territory through its “Au rythme du Haut-Jura” podcast.
