Parco del Monviso

Parco del Monviso is a protected-area organisation dedicated to conserving and interpreting the natural and cultural landscapes around Monviso in Piedmont, Italy. Its work spans alpine environments, mountain forests, rivers and lowland reserves, including the Bosco dell’Alevè, the Po’s source area and several sites in the Natura 2000 network. The organisation also supports the transboundary Monviso Biosphere Reserve, part of UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere programme, and promotes sustainable relationships between communities and their environment.

Visitors can explore walking routes and cycling itineraries, including the Giro di Viso, the Buco di Viso and paths through the Alevè forest. The park provides visitor centres, maps, webcams and information about refuges, trails and access to sites such as Pian del Re and the Rio Martino Cave. Its educational services include environmental learning programmes for schools, covering biodiversity, water, forests, geology and wildlife. Through exhibitions, online stories and local partnerships, Parco del Monviso also shares knowledge about regional flora and fauna, encourages responsible tourism and highlights the people and enterprises contributing to the biosphere reserve.
