About Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio
Stelvio National Park is a protected natural area in the central Alps, established in 1935 to safeguard the region’s Alpine valleys, landscapes, wildlife and plant life. Extending across the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano and the Region of Lombardy, it is one of Italy’s largest protected areas. The park invites visitors to experience its unspoilt nature, mountain scenery and clear skies, while learning about the natural and cultural character of its valleys.
In the Trentino sector, Rabbi Valley brings together traditional farmsteads, Alpine pastures, huts and historic thermal springs within a landscape shaped by a long coexistence between people and nature. The park offers walking and nature activities, including outings focused on local flora, fauna and history, themed evenings and hands-on experiences for children. Visitors can also explore itineraries and take part in events throughout the year.
Information centres and the park consortium’s head office in Cogolo di Peio provide practical information, organisational support and bookings. Qualified expert guides are available to offer explanations and advice during visits.
