Parent Carer Voice North Yorkshire is the recognised Parent Carer Forum for families across North Yorkshire who have children and young people aged 0–25 with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). The organisation works to ensure that parent carers’ lived experiences, views and voices inform decisions, service design and improvements across SEND, health and social care.
It offers practical support, information and opportunities for families to take part in local conversations. Services include regular online and in-person support and information workshops, a library of recorded sessions, useful resources and a free email subscription providing SEND updates. Families can also share feedback on services, which is brought to regular strategic meetings.
The forum represents parent carers across local districts and works with regional and national partners, including the National Network of Parent Carer Forums and Contact. It also collaborates with North Yorkshire Council and Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board to support co-produced improvements and help ensure parent carers’ perspectives are heard by decision-makers.
