Welcome to Parenthèses, the premier French bookstore in Hong Kong, where literature and culture intersect. With over 37 years of service to the Francophone community, Parenthèses is more than just a bookstore; it’s a cultural hub that fosters exchanges and partnerships with notable institutions like the Alliance Française and the Lycée Français. Our extensive collection includes a wide variety of books spanning genres such as literature, youth, travel, cookbooks, and educational resources.

We also offer language learning materials and subscription services for newspapers catering to various interests. In addition to books, we provide stationery, games, gifts, and artistic products inspired by local culture. Despite facing challenges like online competition and rising operational costs, we remain committed to serving our community through events and rich cultural experiences.

Your support is crucial to ensuring that Parenthèses continues as a vibrant meeting place. Join us in preserving this emblematic venue—visit us, shop with us, or spread the word to keep the spirit of our cultural identity alive
