This is my son Parker. My child, my friend, my companion for over 30 years. He brought joy and laughter and love to all who knew him. And, he suffered from addiction for half of his life. He didn't choose this, it chose him. He fought it off, more times than not.

Parkers Pocket is a support initiative created by Parkerโs mother and sister in his memory. After Parker struggled with addiction for much of his life and died from an accidental overdose in February 2016, his family chose to continue the support they had given him and extend it to others facing recovery. The initiative is guided by the belief that addiction recovery is possible and that encouragement can make a difference, particularly during difficult transitions.
Parkers Pocket focuses on helping people in Orange County who have little or no support after completing residential rehabilitation and before they are able to support themselves. Its stated assistance is intended to cover basic needs, including food and transportation, and potentially housing. The goal is to encourage people in recovery to persist through this vulnerable period and build stability as they move forward. Through its cause and contributions, the initiative invites others to help provide practical support and hope to recovering addicts.
