Parlatino, established on December 10, 1964, through the Lima Declaration and subsequently institutionalized on November 16, 1987, in Lima, Peru, is the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament. With its permanent headquarters in Panama, Parlatino offers a wide range of products and services to promote collaboration and cooperation among Latin American countries. They function through various main bodies and permanent commissions, such as the Commission on Agriculture, Livestock, and Fishing, the Commission on Economic Affairs, Social Debt, and Regional Development, and the Commission on Human Rights, Justice, and Prison Policies, among others.

Parlatino is committed to addressing important regional issues by organizing events and seminars, such as the regional parliamentary seminar on the prevention of uncontrolled flows of small arms and light weapons. Additionally, Parlatino promotes legislation that fosters equality, as seen in their emphasis on gender equality and their model laws on food. As a platform for regional integration, Parlatino strives to strengthen the digitalization and integration of congresses in Latin America and the Caribbean with the support of CAF (Development Bank of Latin America).
