Parliament of Pain

The Parliament of Pain (PoP) is a roller derby league based in The Hague, founded in August 2011. It describes itself as the city’s first and only flat-track roller derby league, bringing together skating, speed, strategy, and physical exertion. The league has around 50 skating members, referees, and non-skating officials, and practices two to three times a week. Its single mixed-gender, mixed-level skating team is called the Aces, while its officials form the PoPficials team.

PoP welcomes newcomers through its Fresh Meat program and an open month that introduces participants to basic skating skills and the game. During October, prospective skaters can attend free Thursday sessions, with no prior experience or equipment required. The league also holds a monthly scrimmage, open to eligible visiting skaters and people interested in officiating. Upcoming games and other activities are shared through its events page and social media. Based at Sporthal Oranjeplein in The Hague, the league offers a community for people interested in learning, playing, or supporting roller derby.
