The Pakistan Antimicrobial Resistance Network (PARN) is a vital coalition established in March 2007, in collaboration with the Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Society of Pakistan (MMIDSP). Focused on addressing the growing concerns of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and healthcare-associated infections (HAI) in Pakistan, PARN aims to enhance awareness through information sharing and community support. The organization actively promotes education by offering a free online course titled “Technical Skills for Clinical Microbiologists,” designed to improve antimicrobial susceptibility testing among healthcare professionals.
Over the years, PARN has broadened its initiatives, including redesigned website features that facilitate easier navigation and access to crucial resources. Supported by Health Security Partners (HSP), USA, PARN is dedicated to fostering dialogue and collaboration among individuals, organizations, and public health agencies, striving to combat the widespread challenges posed by AMR and HAIs. PARN encourages feedback and interaction, continuously seeking to enhance its impact on public health in Pakistan
