Parrot Connection

Parrot Connection is a Reno, Nevada, bird shop and service provider serving the area’s parrots since 1998. The business welcomes visitors to meet its boarding birds and offers support for owners of parrots ranging from parakeets to macaws. Its year-round boarding service provides clean cages, refreshed water, and food including seeds, pellets, fruit, and mixed nuts. Owners may supply food for birds with specific dietary needs; calling ahead is recommended for larger birds. Birds showing signs of illness or taking antibiotics are not accepted for boarding.

The shop stocks a changing selection of parrot food, toys, and cages, and offers Saturday wing, nail, and beak trims. Other services include feather-based DNA testing to determine a bird’s sex and consignment assistance for rehoming an old cage. Parrot Connection also points customers to local veterinary options, including its partnered Animal Medical Center and EVS Pet Urgent Care. New bird owners can take a quiz to explore what type of bird may suit them, while the Bird Club connects Reno-area avian enthusiasts through monthly meetings. The shop is located on Lakeside Court and is open Monday through Saturday and Sunday.
