Parrots For Purpose

Parrots for Purpose is a community-focused organisation on the Gold Coast and across South East Queensland, using meaningful interactions with companion parrots to foster comfort, connection and confidence. Its programs support people experiencing loneliness, trauma, disability, mental health challenges, chronic illness and other difficulties, offering welcoming opportunities to feel valued and less alone.

The organisation provides bird-based workshops, community visits, school and hospital sessions, aged care activities, disability group experiences and individual interactions. Its outreach also includes mental health education, referral and rehabilitation support, palliative care visits, public speaking and disaster relief representation. Programs are delivered with schools, care facilities, health services, community organisations and local groups, with an emphasis on inclusive, safe and respectful engagement.

Parrots for Purpose also offers a shop featuring companion birds, bird supplies and care resources, helping support responsible bird care and its community work. Guided by empathy, discretion and honesty, the organisation aims to reduce stigma and enhance wellbeing through compassionate connections.
