PARSEC is an innovative project focused on enhancing collaboration among data and synthesis scientists to elevate research outcomes and promote efficient data sharing and reuse. Established with the vision of advancing global biodiversity conservation, PARSEC encompasses two dedicated teams: the Synthesis Science team and the Data Science team. The Synthesis Science team utilizes advanced artificial intelligence to analyze satellite imagery and socio-economic data, aiming to predict and address environmental threats to indigenous communities' livelihoods and health. Meanwhile, the Data Science team, composed of leading professionals from diverse environmental data management spheres, is committed to establishing best practices for data citation, attribution, and stewardship. They are developing tools to track data usage, ensuring optimized access and reuse, and serve as a case study for the broader scientific community. With partnerships across multiple countries, including Brazil, France, Japan, and the USA, PARSEC is at the forefront of integrating scientific research and data science to support sustainability efforts globally.
