About Pasifika Peace Talanoa
GPPAC Network in the Pacific (GPPAC Pacific) is a locally led civil society network that unites peacebuilders and peace and security experts from the Pacific Islands. Their mission is to promote a human security approach to security in the region, aiming to reduce tensions and instabilities. Focused on gender-inclusive conflict prevention and human security related to the Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 16, they advocate for civil society's involvement in inter-governmental and multilateral dialogues.
The network's strategic plan centers on Environmental Security, advocating for climate change considerations in peace and security discussions. By collaborating with like-minded organizations such as the Shifting the Power Coalition, the network amplifies the voices of Pacific Island women leaders advocating across the Peace-Development-Humanitarian Nexus. Their work embodies a commitment to fostering peace, justice, and security in the Pacific region
