About The Passage Charity
The Passage Charity is dedicated to creating a society where street homelessness is eradicated and everyone can have a place to call home. With a strong vision, they offer a range of products and services aimed at helping those who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Their support begins from prevention and extends to various community integration schemes, ensuring that individuals have comprehensive assistance throughout their entire journey.
The Passage strives to move people away from the streets and into safe, sustainable accommodation. Notably, they have also taken the lead in addressing modern slavery within the homelessness sector by establishing an Anti-Slavery Team. This team provides support to survivors of modern slavery who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Westminster.
In the last year, they supported 52 survivors, with a 21% increase from the previous year. Their dedication is evident, as they continue to shed light on the types of exploitation faced by survivors. As a sector partner of Homewards, a Five-Year Programme launched by Prince William and The Royal Foundation, The Passage works towards the goal of making homelessness rare, brief, and unrepeated.
Their belief is that everyone can play a role in ending homelessness, and they offer opportunities for individuals to volunteer, donate, and challenge themselves. The Passage's impact is best illustrated by Eddie's story, whose life was turned around with the support and opportunities they provided. Additionally, they host the sell-out comedy night, Laughter to the Rafters, on World Mental Health Day and World Homelessness Day, offering a night of laughter while directly supporting their crucial work.
