Pastures New

Pastures New is a UK registered charity dedicated to giving retired and injured racehorses a positive future beyond the winning post. The organisation works to rehabilitate, retrain and re-home as many horses as possible, while raising awareness of the challenges they face when their racing careers end. It also supports the racing industry’s commitment to racehorse welfare.

Retraining helps Thoroughbreds adjust to life outside racing, including learning the basics of riding, bending and balancing with a saddle and rider. Pastures New aims to prepare each horse for a useful life suited to its abilities, whether as a happy hacker or in disciplines such as dressage, polo, eventing or show jumping. The charity believes that appropriate care and training can open up new possibilities for these horses.
