PathVisio is a free, open-source biological pathway editor designed to facilitate the drawing, editing, and analysis of biological pathways. Developed in Java, this versatile software supports user-friendly operations and can be enhanced with various plugins to meet specific research needs. PathVisio serves as the official pathway editor for WikiPathways, a community-curated database that fosters collaborative editing and sharing of biological pathways among researchers.

Offering a user-centric approach, PathVisio provides comprehensive resources, including downloadable software, extensive documentation, and tutorials to help users get started effectively. Although currently under development, these tutorials are designed to enhance the user experience and ensure that everyone can harness the full potential of PathVisio for pathway analysis. Supported by the Maastricht Centre for Systems Biology (MaCSBio) and the Department of Bioinformatics at Maastricht University, PathVisio also emphasizes community engagement, making it a vital tool for researchers in the field of bioinformatics and systems biology.
