Pakistan Thalassemia Welfare Society, commonly known as PATHWEL, was founded in 1991 by a dedicated group of experienced doctors passionate about improving the lives of children affected by thalassemia. This registered non-profit organization has since established itself as a cornerstone of thalassemia care in Pakistan. With its first treatment center inaugurated in Rawalpindi, PATHWEL has transformed into a comprehensive facility that now boasts a dedicated Bone Marrow Transplant and Hematology Daycare Center. Currently, over 500 patients with thalassemia major benefit from its specialized treatments.

PATHWEL is committed to ethical management practices, backed by regular independent audits to ensure financial integrity and operational efficiency. The organization is a member of notable bodies like the Thalassemia International Federation and the Thalassemia Federation of Pakistan. Its primary services include thalassemia care, blood disease laboratory services, blood banking, and research initiatives.
