The Pauli Murray Center for History and Social Justice is a nationally significant history site located at 906 Carroll Street in Durham, North Carolina. It is anchored by Pauli Murray's childhood home, built in 1898 by her grandparents. The Center aims to connect history to contemporary human rights issues and inspire visitors of all ages to stand up for peace, equity, and justice.

Open and welcoming to everyone, the Center's programming encompasses public history, education, arts, and activism. It aspires to become an historic site, incubator, oasis, and sacred space. By rehabilitating the historic home and education center, the Center will provide accessible facilities and a robust calendar of workshops, education, community dialogues, creative arts programming, and virtual events.

The Pauli Murray Center is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Black, feminist and women’s history, LGBTQ+ history, and activist history. By showcasing the accomplishments and struggles of marginalized communities, the Center serves as a leader and model for communities nationwide. The Center has received several accolades, including being named a National Treasure by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and designated as a National Historic Landmark by the National Park Service.

It offers a variety of engagement programs and has collaborated with organizations such as Self-Help Ventures Fund, Duke University, and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. With a growing donor base and strong community connections, the Pauli Murray Center is positioned to make a significant impact in promoting justice and equality. While events are currently virtual, visitors are invited to explore the outdoor educational installation about Pauli Murray's life and the history of the house.
