Paul Vollman

Paul Vollman Fine Art is the art practice and gallery of Ohio-based artist Paul Vollman, focused on large-scale botanical paintings for collectors, galleries, and thoughtfully designed interiors. Original works are central to the practice, with selected imagery also available for hospitality and commercial licensing. Vollman’s acrylic paintings on canvas feature close-up views of flowers, including roses, peonies, irises, petunias, snapdragons, and azaleas. Often presented on canvases measuring around four to five feet, the works emphasize vivid color, intricate detail, and immersive floral compositions.

The artist draws inspiration from flowers found in gardens and everyday surroundings, photographing subjects from different angles before selecting and combining images to develop a composition. He then plans color combinations and paints each image on a large canvas. Vollman’s background as a mechanical engineer informs his detail-oriented process, which includes penciling the image onto a gridded canvas and refining colors and values through experimentation. His work has received recognition in art competitions, including a finalist placement in International Artist Magazine’s Florals and Gardens challenge and a second-place award in AcrylicWorks 13.
