About People for Animal Wellbeing
People for Animal Wellbeing (PAW) is one of Atlantic Canada's largest nonprofit animal rescue shelters, with a history dating back to 1955. Committed to promoting animal care, PAW takes in several thousand animals each year and works tirelessly to prevent animal cruelty in the community. As a leading example of animal care, PAW delivers high-quality services, resources, education, and community programs.
The organization values compassion, animal care, sustainability, leadership, and integrity, seeking to represent and protect the interests and wellbeing of all animals. PAW offers a range of services, including animal control, food bank, pet safekeeping, and fostering programs. Additionally, they provide educational resources to assist families in adopting and caring for their pets.
By supporting PAW's fundraisers and events, such as the Annual PAWS Walk and Christmas Gift Wrapping, you help keep their rescue center open. PAW is dedicated to encouraging compassion for animals and offers a variety of products in their shop, including cat and dog products, clothing, and licenses. Support PAW by donating, volunteering, or becoming a sponsor, as they continue to make a positive impact on animal welfare in the community
