Based in Berlin, the organisation works to promote peace, nonviolence, human rights and dialogue, including engagement with opposing sides in conflict. Its activities bring together members, local groups, diocesan associations and commissions across Germany.
The organisation runs campaigns and public initiatives on issues such as peace education, conscientious objection, arms exports, nuclear disarmament and the prevention of underage recruitment into the military. It also advocates for changes in public policy, including recognition of the State of Palestine and alternatives to increased military spending. For people considering refusing military service, pax christi offers advice and support.
Its resources include publications, a digital edition of its magazine, a podcast and weekly reflections. The organisation also shares news, event listings and opportunities to take part in seminars, demonstrations and other activities. Visitors can learn about membership, volunteering and ways to donate, or sign up for the newsletter.
