About PAX voor vrede
PAX is the largest peace organization in the Netherlands, dedicated to protecting civilians from warfare, ending armed violence, and building inclusive peace. With a history of 75 years working for peace and against war, PAX embodies values of solidarity, human dignity, and social and political action. Operating in conflict areas worldwide, PAX collaborates with local partners and individuals who believe in the right to a dignified life in a peaceful society.
PAX is known for its numerous successes, such as advocating for financial institutions to reject nuclear weapons. The organization also organizes the Peace Week, an annual event for over 50 years, bringing together hundreds of local activities with a shared goal of peace. This year, the focus is on the state of democracy under pressure.
Moreover, PAX works closely with local partners in Ukraine, providing support and sharing their stories to raise awareness about the situation in the country.
