PBD Project

PBD Project is a nonprofit research accelerator and biotech incubator dedicated to advancing science on peroxisomes, essential but underexplored components of human biology. The organization works to address fragmented and underfunded research by bringing together scientists, supporting bold investigations, and helping translate discoveries into potential treatments. Its focus spans processes linked to metabolism, oxidative stress, immune function, neurological health, inflammation, and aging, with possible relevance to rare diseases as well as neurodegeneration, diabetes, and cancer.

PBD Project’s programs support translational research and build shared resources, including models, assays, and research infrastructure that scientists can use. It also convenes researchers across disciplines and works to map peroxisome biology so potential therapeutic targets become clearer.
