About PBFA
The PBFA (Provincial Booksellers' Fairs Association) is a professional trade body that specializes in organizing second-hand and antiquarian book fairs across the UK. With a history dating back to 1972, the PBFA has expanded its fairs to cover the length and breadth of the country. Their members display a wide variety of books, both second-hand and antiquarian, often complemented with prints, maps, and ephemera.
The PBFA ensures that all items are correctly described and fairly priced through their Code of Practice. As a 'Not for Profit' association, their fairs are run by volunteers and supported by staff at their Royston offices. Apart from organizing book fairs, the PBFA is actively involved in various activities.
They have adopted Listening Books, a charity providing audiobook library services, as their designated charity and support the York Antiquarian Book Seminars. They have also partnered with T L Dallas, leading specialist insurers, for rare books insurance. The PBFA is a valuable resource for book enthusiasts and professionals alike, providing access to book sites, book valuers, and associations like the ABA and The Ephemera Society.
Joining the PBFA offers numerous benefits, including listing on their website and access to their established network of booksellers and experts in the industry
