About Perth Blood Institute
Perth Blood Institute (PBI) is a research institute and registered charity dedicated to preventing, treating and finding cures for blood disorders. Based in West Perth, Western Australia, it works to improve the quality of life of people living with these conditions and to support patients and their families. PBI conducts medical research and operates a Clinical Trials Unit that runs studies into bleeding and clotting disorders and blood cancers.
Through clinical trials, Western Australians may have opportunities to access new treatments, while research projects and biobanked samples support the development of better care. The institute also collaborates with haematology centres across the Asia-Pacific region and shares research findings with the medical community. Its website provides information about conditions including anaemia, haemophilia, sickle cell disease, thrombosis, leukaemia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma, alongside resources for patients and families.
