About Philippine Council for NGO Certification
The Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC) is a trusted and self-regulating accreditation body for NGOs in the Philippines. As a private, voluntary, non-stock, nonprofit corporation, PCNC ensures that NGOs and Foundations meet high standards of good governance and management. By providing accreditation, PCNC helps these organizations gain recognition and credibility.
Accreditation by PCNC is a prerequisite for NGOs and Foundations to be registered with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) as qualified donee institutions. PCNC's mission is to enable NGOs to amplify their mission through a credible and accessible accreditation system. The organization believes in the values of integrity, transparency, accountability, service, and volunteerism.
With PCNC's accreditation, NGOs can be trusted and reliable partners in national development. PCNC is dedicated to creating a community of NGOs that participate effectively in development and nation-building. They have a rich history, starting in 1997 when six prominent NGO networks established the organization to ensure that resources received by non-profit organizations are maximized for their intended purposes.
As the government's partner in accreditation, PCNC continues to strengthen its ties with the Bureau of Internal Revenue to extend the benefits of donee institution status to qualified NGOs. With a dedicated Board of Trustees, PCNC is committed to upholding its mission and vision in uplifting the NGO sector in the Philippines
