PeaceGold

PeaceGold is a community jewellery workshop and ethical jewellery retailer in Bishop Auckland, founded by ethical jewellery campaigner Greg Valerio MBE. Built around craftsmanship, sustainability and social responsibility, it connects jewellery making with skills training, inclusion and community engagement. The workshop welcomes people of different ages and experience levels, with small-group classes in a fully equipped studio. Sessions cover skills and projects such as silver stacker rings, gemstone settings, mixed metals, gemmology, seaglass pendants and pearl stringing, with tools and materials provided.

PeaceGold also offers expert jewellery repairs and remodelling, from resizing and fixing broken clasps to transforming treasured pieces, as well as bespoke commissions. Its shop features Fairtrade Gold rings, pendants, earrings and bridal jewellery from Valerio Jewellery and independent designers. The brand says its pieces use responsibly sourced gold, recycled precious metals and certified gemstones. Through youth programmes and accessible craft experiences, PeaceGold aims to make jewellery a vehicle for learning and positive change, while promoting fair trade, human rights and ecological responsibility in the jewellery industry.
