SWISSINT is the Swiss Armed Forces’ competence centre for international peace promotion. Its mission is to support peace through participation in more than a dozen operations across four continents, with around 300 officers, non-commissioned officers, soldiers and civilian personnel. Its work spans a broad range of peacekeeping activities, including contributions to SWISSCOY/KFOR, EUFOR and United Nations missions, humanitarian mine clearance, and capacity building.
To prepare personnel for these assignments, SWISSINT provides training through its training centre and specialist courses. Roles include military observers, analysts, aviation and medical specialists, logistics and transport personnel, communications experts, police, engineers and staff officers. The organisation also offers information about mission opportunities, recruitment requirements, application documents and the selection process. Peacekeeping assignments are voluntary, and interested people can apply for suitable roles.
SWISSINT shares information through virtual briefings, public events, exhibitions and its Swiss Peace Supporter publication. Based in Stans-Oberdorf, it connects military and civilian expertise in support of Switzerland’s international peace-promotion efforts.
