Peanut Butter Sundays (PB Sundays) is a youth-founded 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Los Angeles, building community since 2020. Led by teens, the organization brings housed and unhoused neighbors together through food, sports, music, and shared experiences. Its mission is to empower young people to create the change they want to see and to ensure no neighbor is left out.
PB Sundays began when teens Daniel and Wyeth Ahearn, alongside Zach Strauss and Isaac Love, started handing out peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in their neighborhood. That simple act has grown into a community movement with more than six programs and eight teen directors. Activities include making and distributing sandwiches, hosting music festivals and basketball tournaments, and gathering neighbors for skate sessions at local parks. Planned initiatives include boxing programs focused on confidence, discipline, and respect, as well as a film festival showcasing youth filmmakers and local voices.
The organization also offers microgrants of up to $1,000 and impact scholarships of up to $5,000 for young people developing community projects.
