Socius, z.ú. is a social services organization supporting people who care for a loved one at home. Based in Beroun, it provides practical, person-centred help across the Beroun and Hořovice areas, with services also extending to Prague-West, including Řevnice and nearby communities, and the Rakovník and Křivoklát regions. As a mobile service, its team visits clients in their homes, where it considers both the needs of the person receiving care and the demands on the caregiver.

Socius offers a field respite service, giving family caregivers temporary relief, as well as free professional social counselling. The team can discuss available support, help caregivers understand benefits and entitlements, and offer practical guidance tailored to each household’s situation and the organization’s capacity. Support begins with a conversation, followed by a meeting to explain options and agree on next steps. Socius also shares guidance through articles on caregiving, care allowances, asking family for help, and caregiver burnout.
