PedScience Vestische Forschungs gGmbH is a nonprofit research organization dedicated to improving medical care for children and adolescents. It focuses on the distinct needs of young patients, recognizing that their physical, cognitive, and emotional development means adult treatment approaches cannot simply be applied to them. The organization aims to strengthen pediatric research and provide reliable evidence to help evaluate promising therapies and medication recommendations, supporting clinicians in their work for young people’s health.

Its research spans clinical research, healthcare services research, and prevention. Areas of work include pediatric palliative care, pain treatment, child protection, neuropediatrics, and rare diseases. PedScience uses interdisciplinary research to advance diagnosis, treatment, and care across pediatric medicine, with attention to individual developmental pathways and circumstances.

The organization’s projects include B(e) NAMSE, exploring telemedicine-supported, interdisciplinary care for young people with rare diseases, and KAIROS, studying the safe and meaningful use of artificial intelligence in pediatric pain and palliative care. PedScience also publishes research on pediatric chronic pain, clinical outcomes, and related assessment tools.
