Peel Animal Rescue Society (PARS) is a nonprofit group dedicated to the rescue of homeless dogs and cats in the Peel Region. With a mission to save as many animals as possible, PARS actively participates in the TNR (Trap, Neuter & Release) program for feral cats, helping to reduce the overpopulation of homeless cats in the area. As a volunteer-run organization, PARS does not have a facility or paid staff.

Instead, they rely on the dedication of their volunteers and the support of the community to carry out their work. Their goal is to find loving forever homes for homeless pets, regardless of their background, age, health, or behavioral issues. When a pet is rescued, PARS ensures they receive a thorough veterinary check-up and necessary vaccinations.

Health issues are addressed, and all animals, except for under-aged kittens or puppies, are spayed or neutered to prevent the birth of future homeless pets. Future neutering or spaying for kittens and puppies is also included in their Adoption Agreement. For dogs, appropriate foster homes are found, while adoptable cats are placed in one of their 7 cat adoption locations.

Sick or less socialized cats are placed in foster homes for recovery or socialization. Senior dogs and cats with long-term health issues are placed in long-term foster homes. PARS operates with a no-kill policy, and all animals are given the opportunity to find a loving and caring home.
