Painted Mental Health

Peer Mental Health (PMH) is a peer-run mental health technology organization focused on making recovery support more accessible through lived experience, digital tools, and virtual reality. Its Continuum program offers eligible Medicare recipients in California and Arizona free smart devices to help them access mental health treatment. Continuum is a virtual reality application that turns recovery into an interactive experience, drawing on the Eight Dimensions of Wellness and the 17 core competencies of a peer support specialist.

Features include Interactive Resiliency training, progress tracking, immersive environments, anonymity controls, and access to care and peer support groups. PMH also provides services to individuals and organizations, including peer staffing and workforce development, resiliency workshops, and training in digital literacy, resume building, and multimedia skills. Support is available in person, through Zoom, and in virtual reality.

The organization hosts weekly Community Wellness Meetings for connection, check-ins, and resource sharing, and offers internships in journalism and multimedia. Through its services and technology, PMH aims to foster safe, engaging spaces for resilience and recovery
