Pehr Brahen

Pehr Brahe Foundation is a Finnish foundation established in 1996 to support research, education and development that benefit the Raahe economic region. Its focus includes technology and economics, as well as other fields considered important to the area’s economy. The foundation works alongside organisations, businesses and communities based in Raahe and neighbouring municipalities.

Its main form of support is scholarships for research projects, development work and theses that address the needs of local businesses and industry. Higher education students may apply when their development or final project is being carried out for a company in the Raahe area. Vocational and other upper secondary students are also eligible if they have completed pathway studies preparing them for university of applied sciences studies. Through this funding, the foundation seeks to encourage useful academic work and contribute to regional growth.

The foundation is governed through a board and an advisory council, and its website provides information about its activities, scholarship applications, leadership, founding members and donations.
