Pelham Children's Center

Pelham Children’s Center is a community-based nonprofit in Pelham, New York, providing childcare, education, and enrichment for children from culturally and economically diverse backgrounds. Serving the community for 50 years, the center offers preschool and before- and after-school care in a warm, welcoming environment. Its preschool team develops classroom experiences and curriculum around children’s individual interests and needs, while encouraging them to help care for their classroom and its materials. The program emphasizes positive behavior, friendly relationships, and supporting each child’s readiness for the next stage of development.

After-school care is available at Hutchinson, Colonial, and Prospect Hill elementary schools. Children take part in building a sense of community and belonging, with mixed-age groups that encourage them to learn from and support one another. The center also provides full-day daycare near the Pelham Train Station and participates in QUALITYstarsNY, New York State’s early childhood quality improvement system. Families can contact the center to ask questions, schedule a visit, or submit an application.
