The Pelican Club Restaurant and Bar in New Orleans is a hidden gem located in the French Quarter. Founded in 1990 by Richard Hughes and Jeanne Stinnett Hughes, this establishment brings together the robust flavors of south Louisiana and the elegance of New York cuisine. Richard, a native of New Orleans, began his cooking career at home and later trained under esteemed chefs in the area.
After making a name for himself in New York, the couple returned to their roots to open The Pelican Club. Housed in a 19th century French Quarter townhouse, the restaurant features a warm and inviting atmosphere with three distinct dining rooms adorned with original artwork by Louisiana artists. The menu offers a contemporary twist on Creole, seafood, and global cuisine, with signature dishes like Pelican Club Baked Oysters and Seafood Martini.
The extensive wine list, showcasing selections from California, France, and Italy, perfectly complements the culinary offerings. Whether you're looking for a memorable dining experience or a place to host a private event, The Pelican Club is the perfect choice. With its beautiful ambiance, exceptional cuisine, and attentive service, this establishment is sure to exceed your expectations
